Tech: Huawei unveils two ICS-based 3G tablets in India, starting Rs. 13,700

The smaller of the two – the MediaPad 7 Lite weighs 370g, and is powered by a Cortex A8 1.2GHz processor. The display features an IPS panel with a resolution of 1024 x 600 and looks quite good. According to Huawei the tablet is compatible with nearly all multimedia formats which should serve it well as a media consumption device. It also features a 3.2 megapixel rear camera and a 0.3 megapixel front-facing camera. The MediaPad 7 Lite is immediately available for sale in India at Rs 13,700 via modern trade stores like Croma, Reliance Digital and online partners like Flipkart and multi-brand outlets across India.
The MediaPad 10 FHD features an 8 megapixel autofocus rear camera (with dual LED Flash) that records 1080P HD videos and a 1.3 megapixel front facing camera for video calling. As far as connectivity is concerned the 10-inch LTE version supports wireless data upto 150 Mbps LTE (compatible with 84 Mbps HSPA+) in addition to Wi-Fi and 3G. The presentation at the launch event claims the 6600 mAh battery is good for 10 hours of video playback.
The company plans to release accessories for the MediaPad 10 FHD and the most prominent is the keyboard add-on. The officials hinted at some sort of package deal featuring the tablet and the keyboard as a bundle. No word on pricing yet as the company plans to reveal those details once the device is available for shipping in December. No word on Jelly Bean updates as well. Stay tuned for our review.
